Frayne Woodcraft – Tree Mythology, Ogham & Woodturning Experience
Join Frayne Woodcraft for a unique immersive experience exploring the mythology of Ireland’s native trees and their deep connection to the landscape and traditions of Samhain. Begin with a guided walk through the native tree field at Púca Festival Harvest Market where woodturner Damien Frayne shares the folklore and beliefs associated with trees such as Ash, Beech, Crab Apple and Hazel, each long linked with healing, knowledge, protection and love.During the visit, discover the ancient Ogham alphabet, traditionally associated with native trees, and find your own “spirit tree” within this early Irish calendar system. The experience continues with a live woodturning demonstration in the workshop, offering insight into this traditional craft and the skills involved in shaping timber by hand. Guests will also receive a small memento to remember their visit. At the Púca Festival Harvest Market, guests will also have the opportunity to browse a selection of beautifully handturned pieces created by Frayne Woodcraft.
