Samhain heralds summers end.
The last of the crops had been gathered and now came the discerning time of what to cut away and what to carry forward. For our ancestors the darkening days came with a sense of fear and foreboding. Had they done enough, had they seeded, grown and harvested enough crops to see them through the dark months? It is an apt time at the threshold of the turning of the wheel of the year to consider and appraise our own journey through the seasons thus far and likewise evaluate what it is in our own lives that we no longer need to carry forward and what resources do we need to see us through. As the daylight hours are diminishing each day, every ray of sunlight is even more precious. Join us as we gather to witness the new day at this potent time, as the seasons change and we begin to turn more inward. At the sunrise meditation we will greet the sun and work with the energy of the new day and consider what are the seeds we need to nurture and tend to over the Winter months. Please feel free to bring any special mementos or photographs to carry with you, as we call to mind those who came before us.
