Gala Event
On Monday the 31st the Trim cultural centre will be hosting a gala with some of Irelands best comedic talent – with MC Sharon Mannion, with Ross Browne Shane Daniel Byrne, John Colleary.
Sharon Mannion
Sharon Mannion is a comedian and writer best known for her role as ‘Concepta’ in the RTE 2/UKTV hit comedy, ‘Bridget & Eamon’.
She writes for TV & radio on series like ‘Blasts from the Past’, a historical sketch show for RTE,
‘Callan’s Kicks’ political satire on RTE Radio 1, and ‘You Couldn’t Make It Up’, a topical comedy panel show for Newstalk FM.
She worked as a script writer and performer on several seasons of ‘Republic of Telly’ RTE 2, co-wrote and produced ‘Tidy’, for the RTE Player, and also wrote and performed for The Nualas, on their ‘Lock Up Your Husbands’ nationwide tour.
She was nominated for a Celtic Media Award in 2019 for the radio version of her one-woman show ‘The Curse of the Button Accordion’ and won a Writers Gulid Award – Best radio script in 2020 for ‘Stuck’ She’s also a performer on the IMRO Award winning radio series ‘Colm O’Regan Wants A Word’ – RTE Radio 1.
She performs as a stand up at clubs and festivals all over Ireland and the UK including The Cat Laughs Comedy Festival – Kilkenny, Paddy Power Comedy Festival – Iveagh Gardens Dublin, Vodafone Comedy Carnival, Galway, So Funny Festival, Sligo and she is the resident host of The Comedy Cellar at the International Bar, the longest running comedy club in Ireland.

Ross Browne
Ross Browne is a stand up comedian, writer, actor and presenter from Cork., Ireland.
Ross has been performing stand up comedy since 2006 with sell out tours across Ireland, UK, Los Angeles, Spain and Germany. Ross has also crafted a serious career as a writer and performer in many hit TV shows, as well as co-anchoring the award winning breakfast show on Corks 96FM.
All while developing and producing an International stand-up comedy special for Amazon Prime Video and signing with LA based comedy Dynamics.
Shane Daniel Byrne.
Shane Daniel Byrne is a writer, actor, MC and award winning stand-up comedian. He sold out his first solo show Shane Daniel Byrne LIVE in Dublin’s Liberty Hall Theatre. 2022 and 2023 have seen him headlining the biggest big comedy clubs in Dublin as well as special guest spots on National Tours for Tony Cantwell and Emma Doran. He’s opened up for Kiri Pritchard-McClean and even got to support one of his comedy heroes David O’ Doherty.
He has taken the stage at major festivals including The Cat Laughs (2019,2021,2022), Vodafone Comedy Festival (2019), Paddy Power Comedy Festival (2022), Body & Soul, Otherside, Electric Picnic and Love Sensation. He has performed across the island of Ireland, the UK and as far away as the Middle East.
For RTÉ, he hosted Love Bites in 2022 and Queer History School in 2021. In 2020 he appeared on Reeling In The Fears in a sketch he wrote with Joanne McNally. For Virgin Media, he was a guest on The Six O’ Clock Show and a contributor on Ireland AM.
As an MC he hosted the Dublin Pride Stage at Mother Pride Block Party, co-hosted the Irish Times Theatre Awards 2022 with actress Eileen Walsh, Lockdown Lols for GCN Magazine and The Pride Takeover on DubX Radio. He has also hosted events for Yelp.ie, Nine Crows, Dublin Youth Theatre, Bulmers Light and West Coast Cooler.
John Colleary.
Apart from being one of the most in demand comics around, JOHN COLLEARY has also co-written and starred in IFTA nominated shows,
THE SAVAGE EYE(RTE2) and IRISH PICTORIAL WEEKLY (RTE1).
A talented actor and mimic, John recently featured as one third of The Gusset Brothers on THE TOMMY TIERNAN SHOW (RTE1).
Colleary has also scooped a PPI award for his topical sketch writing and performance on TODAY FMs drivetime flagship, THE LAST WORD.
A regular at KILKENNY CAT LAUGHS, VODAFONE COMEDY CARNIVAL and THE ELECTRIC PICNIC, to name a few, John Colleary is definitely one to watch.
In 2023, John is embarking on his own national tour, JOHN COLLEARY: LOUD & COLLEARY, which brings him to Ballyshannon, Westport, Ballina, Wexford, Greystones, Dundalk, Drogheda, Belfast, Dublin, Kilkenny, Portlaoise, Athlone, Limerick & Galway Comedy Festival
