Sustainability at the Púca Festival
Our Commitment
We at Púca Festival are committed to minimising our environmental impact. We have been implementing several sustainability initiatives to date that have been successful in reducing our overall Co2 emissions. 2024 will see this continue as we endeavour to reduce our emissions in partnership with our suppliers, artists, traders, and YOU! Our journey has only really begun and will continue to build each year as the festival grows. Aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) and Fáilte Ireland Sustainable Festival Guidelines we can work together to minimise our carbon footprint and ensure to leave no trace.

Buses provided by Festival
The Green House Gas (GHG) emissions of our festival attendees accounts for 80% of the overall carbon footprint of our festival. With this in mind, we always encourage the use of public transport to both our festival towns. We are delighted that both towns are very well served by existing public bus routes. In addition to these public routes we provide three bespoke festival bus routes for our attendees. With bus ticketing options available alongside concert tickets page.
We are also delighted to provide Shuttle Bus transport between towns to further encourage shared transport.

Our on-site generators run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). HVO reducing emissions by up to 90% while also reusing existing fuels. We also monitor all aspects of the festival energy emissions. Working with our venues and partners to have as small an impact as possible.
Working with “Refill Ireland” by installing water refill stations on the Trim site, we also signpost municipal refill stations locally. By supporting the use of refillable bottles this also reduces the amount of single use plastics onsite.
Working closely with our festival food Vendors and waste management partner we continue our Zero Land fill policy. By providing Recyclable, Compost, and General segregated waste bins onsite with messaging attendees are encouraged to dispose of their waste correctly. We take our waste seriously and engage with our onsite vendors and waste contactor pre and post event to control and measure our waste footprint.
We were very proud of our work making the Púca Festival a truly sustainable festival in 2024, we also featured a Sustainability Centre on the ground to tell you all about what we are doing today and our plans for future festivals
We at the Púca Festival value the communities within which the festival lives. We actively engage with all sectors of the community to share information and encourage participation.
